The Tive Solo 5G includes a built-in ambient light sensor that does something deceptively simple but commercially powerful: it knows when a sealed container is opened.
When you attach a Tive Solo 5G inside a sealed box, crate, or shipping container, the sensor registers complete darkness. The moment the packaging is opened — whether at a warehouse, on a loading dock, during a customs inspection, or in transit — the light level spikes and the event is logged with a precise timestamp and GPS coordinates.
This matters in several ways:- Theft evidence: If goods disappear between dispatch and delivery, the light sensor log shows exactly when and where the package was opened — providing a precise event for investigators and insurers to work from.
- Carrier accountability: Repeated light events at a specific depot, hub, or carrier handover point create a pattern that is difficult to dispute and easy to escalate.
- Insurance claims: Many cargo insurers now accept timestamped electronic tamper records as primary evidence. A light sensor log from a Transparent Path device is far stronger than a broken seal or a customer's word.
