Alcohol Refractometer with Automatic temperature compensation.
The MR330ATC displays two scales simultaneously from a single drop of sample: % alcohol volume (0–25% v/v) and degrees Baumé (0–20°Be), both at 0.2 resolution and ±0.2 accuracy, with built-in automatic temperature compensation correcting for ambient variation — the key practical upgrade over the non-ATC MR325. The °Baumé scale makes this instrument particularly well-suited to winemakers monitoring fermentation density alongside alcohol development, as Baumé is a traditional measure of grape sugar and wine density still widely used in Australian viticulture.
No batteries required — calibrate with distilled water, place a drop on the prism, and read both scales through the eyepiece. For those who specifically need Brix + alcohol rather than Baumé + alcohol, the MR325 is the alternative sibling model.
