Milwaukee instruments are built to be kept, not replaced. Most testers take a replaceable probe or electrode rather than being sealed units, and Pacific Sensor Tech stocks 40+ probes and accessories plus 16 reagents and a full set of buffer and calibration solutions in Australia. That matters more than the purchase price: a meter bought from an overseas marketplace listing is difficult to recalibrate, re-probe or claim warranty on once it is in service.
Calibrate in pH 7.01 buffer first, then in a second buffer that brackets your expected range — pH 4.01 for acidic samples, pH 10.01 for alkaline. Rinse the electrode in distilled water between buffers and never wipe it dry. Most Milwaukee PRO and MAX testers recognise the standard buffers automatically. Recalibrate weekly in regular use, and always after cleaning or replacing an electrode. Check your model's manual for the exact key sequence.

For spot checks and field work the pocket testers are the simplest option — pH600AQ, pH51, pH54, pH55 PRO, pH56 PRO and pH58 MAX, with the pH58 MAX also reading ORP. For laboratory or production use where you need a separate probe on a cable, choose a portable meter: MW100 PRO or MW101 PRO for general work, MW102 PRO for pH with temperature, or the dedicated MW101-SOIL PRO and MW102-FOOD PRO for soil and food. On most of the range, yes. Milwaukee's pocket testers from the pH51 upward take a replaceable electrode, and the portable and bench meters use a separate probe on a cable. An electrode reaching end of life therefore does not mean replacing the instrument.
