Why Monitor CO₂ Levels?
Carbon dioxide (CO₂) is an invisible, odourless gas that accumulates quickly in enclosed spaces. Elevated CO₂ levels — typically above 1,000 ppm — lead to reduced cognitive performance, fatigue, and poor air quality. In industrial and research settings, undetected CO₂ build-up can signal safety hazards or compromise product integrity. A CO₂ data logger gives you a continuous, timestamped record of CO₂ concentrations so you can identify trends, investigate incidents, and demonstrate compliance with indoor air quality standards.
Our Carbon Dioxide Data Logger Range
Pacific Sensor Technologies supplies a curated selection of CO₂ data loggers and carbon dioxide monitors from world-leading brands including COMET, EFENTO, CENTER, and MadgeTech. Whether you need a simple standalone logger with an LCD display, a multi-parameter device that also captures temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure, or a fully wireless IoT solution with 4G or NB-IoT connectivity, we have a logger to suit your application and budget.

A CO₂ data logger is a standalone electronic device that measures carbon dioxide concentrations in ambient air using a non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) sensor. The sensor shines infrared light through a sample of air; CO₂ molecules absorb specific wavelengths, and the detector calculates the concentration from the degree of absorption. Readings are stored in the device’s internal memory at user-defined intervals (from seconds to hours) and can later be downloaded via USB, transmitted wirelessly to a cloud platform, or displayed in real time on an integrated LCD screen.
Outdoor air contains approximately 420 ppm CO₂. In well-ventilated buildings, indoor levels typically stay below 800 ppm. Levels above 1,000 ppm are associated with noticeable drops in cognitive function. ASHRAE Standard 62.1 recommends maintaining CO₂ below 1,100 ppm in occupied spaces. At 2,000 ppm and above, most people experience headaches, fatigue, and significant mental impairment. CO₂ loggers with alarm functions can alert occupants when levels reach configurable thresholds.
For greenhouse applications, we recommend a logger with a range of at least 0–5,000 ppm (as CO₂ enrichment in greenhouses can exceed typical atmospheric levels), a battery life suited to remote locations, and — ideally — wireless connectivity so readings can be monitored without entering the greenhouse. The COMET U4440 and EFENTO NB-IoT loggers are popular choices for greenhouse monitoring in Australia.
Yes. Pacific Sensor Technologies is based in Australia and dispatches orders across the country including Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and regional locations. Most in-stock items are dispatched within 1–2 business days. Express shipping options are available at checkout.
Many models in our range are multi-parameter loggers that simultaneously record CO₂, temperature, and relative humidity — and some also measure atmospheric pressure. This is particularly useful for HVAC assessment, laboratory compliance, and cold-chain documentation where multiple environmental parameters must be tracked together. See the product specifications on each product page for full parameter lists.
No — carbon dioxide (CO2) and carbon monoxide (CO) are different gases requiring different sensors. The loggers on this page measure carbon dioxide (CO2) using NDIR sensors for air-quality, research, and storage applications; they do not detect carbon monoxide. If you need a CO (carbon monoxide) safety detector, view CENTER 510 | Carbon Monoxide Meter or contact us to discuss options.
A CO2 monitor typically displays a live reading (and may sound an alarm at a threshold); a CO2 data logger additionally records readings over time to internal memory so they can be downloaded and analysed later. Several of our loggers, including the COMET U3430 and U8410, function as both — they display live CO2 levels and log the data continuously
