A soil pH tester (or meter) is the first tool to reach for before any planting, fertilising or soil amendment — fertiliser can’t be absorbed properly if the pH is wrong, leading to unhealthy, stunted plants. PST’s range covers direct-insertion probes (Hanna GroLine, GOnDO ZD05/ZD06) through to the lab-grade Milwaukee MW101-SOIL PRO, for gardens, farms, research stations and commercial growing operations.

Beyond pH, healthy soil also depends on moisture, temperature and nutrient levels. This range covers wireless and Bluetooth moisture/temperature loggers for continuous monitoring (EFENTO), simple handheld moisture sensors and meters (Ecowitt), and a liquid-reagent NPK test kit (Milwaukee MT6003) for checking nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium before fertilising.

A soil pH tester (or pH meter) measures how acidic or alkaline your soil is, which determines whether plants can absorb nutrients properly. A soil moisture sensor measures water content instead — a separate reading used for irrigation scheduling. Some testers, like the GOnDO ZD05 and ZD06, measure both pH and moisture in a single probe; others are dedicated to one parameter only.
A pH tester tells you whether your soil's pH is in the right range for your plants. An NPK test kit (like the Milwaukee MT6003) goes further and measures nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium levels — the core nutrients most fertilisers are built around. Test pH first: if pH is wrong, plants can't absorb the nutrients an NPK test identifies as missing.
A quality tester for soil pH can predict reliable readings in actual conditions.
Range for typical pH measurement: 3 to 10
Accuracy of +/-0.1 to +/-0.5 pH depending on model
Stainless steel probes for hardiness
Utilize probe lengths ranging from 15 to 30 centimeters for more in-depth testing
Duration of time between 5 and 60 seconds
Splash/Moisture-proof construction
More sophisticated models might offer auto-calibration features to achieve long-term measurement stability.
Where Soil pH Testing Is Used
The testing of soil pH is extremely important in a variety of industries.
Gardening
Take care of your flower and ornamental plants: keep your vegetables, flowers and ornamental plants healthy.
Agriculture
Enhance crop production and fertiliser scheduling.
Hydroponics
Ensure balanced nutrient conditions are present in the controlled growing system.
Lawn and turf
Help promote hardier root development and regular turfgrass growth.
Indoor and Container Plants
Monitor the soil conditions in those in which the nutrients change rapidly.
